Melt butter in large saucepan. Add onions and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes. Add cream and heat to boiling. Immediately reduce heat, stirring constantly until slightly thickened and reduced to about 3/4 cup, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Add to cream mixture along with shrimp and peas; stir until heated through.
