Thumbprint Heart Cookies

Ingredients:

  1. 1 pkg. Pillsbury Refrigerated Sugar Cookies
  2. 1 egg yolk
  3. 10 drops red food color
  4. 1/4 cup red decorator sugar
  5. Red decorator icing
Directions:

Place cookie dough in freezer for 30 minutes. Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat egg yolk in small bowl. Add food color; blend well. Cut chilled dough into 1/4 inch slices. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Dip thumb or finger in egg mixture to generously coat with color. Press finger onto each slice of dough at an angle twice to make a heart shape; sprinkle with sugar.

Bake 7 - 11 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute before removing cookies from pan. Cool completely.

With decorating icing, write names or messages on cookies around heart.
